Event overview

On April 14-15, 2025, Autodesk hosted its first ever Civil 3D Summit, in Wisconsin. The intention of the event was to bring together Civil 3D power users, WisDOT officials, and ACEC Wisconsin members for an intensive two-day collaborative experience. Unlike traditional conferences, this summit was specifically designed as an interactive forum where attendees could exchange expertise, showcase innovations, and directly influence the future development of Civil 3D software.

Why was GeoDin there?

The summit's technical focus provided the perfect backdrop for our team to showcase GeoDin Ground in action. During our sessions, we demonstrated how our specialized Civil 3D app bridges the critical gap between geotechnical data and civil engineering design.

Attendees were particularly impressed by the live demonstration of real-time borehole data integration, which showed how engineers can visualize subsurface conditions directly within their Civil 3D environment without switching between multiple software platforms. The ability to generate accurate geological profiles along alignment paths drew significant interest from transportation and infrastructure professionals in attendance.

Technical feedback is the most important feedback

For GeoDin, the Civil 3D Summit represented a strategic opportunity to connect with exactly the right audience. As Civil 3D continues to be the design tool of choice for infrastructure projects across North America, the need for seamless geotechnical data integration has never been more apparent.

"What made this event special was the level of technical expertise in the room," noted Kimberly Norton, GeoDin Head of Sales. "These weren't casual Civil 3D users – these were professionals pushing the software to its limits on complex projects where ground conditions are critical design factors."

The summit's emphasis on parametric modeling and construction cloud integration aligned perfectly with GeoDin Ground's capabilities, allowing us to demonstrate how our solution fits within the evolving Civil 3D ecosystem and emerging workflows.

Pioneering the future together with Autodesk

As Autodesk's first dedicated Civil 3D Summit concluded, it was clear that this new format met a real need in the Civil 3D community. The collaborative atmosphere fostered exactly the kind of technical exchange and innovation sharing that drives both software development and industry best practices forward.

For GeoDin, participation in this inaugural event has established our position as an innovative solution provider within the Civil 3D ecosystem. The connections made and insights gathered will directly influence our development roadmap as we continue enhancing GeoDin Ground to meet the evolving needs of civil engineers and geotechnical professionals.

We're already looking forward to next year's summit, where we plan to showcase new features developed in response to the valuable feedback received from this year's attendees.
